Online & Mobile Banking Security

We use a wide variety of security protection and monitoring methods to protect the confidentiality of your information and the security of your transactions when you use our online and mobile banking facilities.

• Firewall and Virtual Private Network (VPN)

We use an advanced firewall and VPN system to protect our IT resources from Internet-based threats and ensure secure, ongoing connectivity for you.

• Intrusion Detection (IDS) / Intrusion Prevention (IPS) Systems

In place are IPS and IDS solutions to monitor, detect, and prevent intrusions and other fraudulent activity.

• Secured Transmissions

We use 2048-bit encryption to ensure that data transmitted online between your browser and the EastWest website is encrypted and kept private.

• Digital Authentication

EastWest Online has an extended validation certificate from Symantec Corporation (SSL Certificate issued by Symantec Class 3)—signified by the green lock icon—further securing your banking session with us.

• User ID and Password

Your unique EastWest Online User ID and password help establish a legitimate connection between your computer/mobile device and the EastWest network, thereby protecting your accounts from being compromised.

• Security question

When you enroll in EastWest Online, you will be prompted to pick from a list of 15 security questions and provide answers that are unique to you. This added security feature further authenticates your identity and will also help minimize the risk of potential unauthorized access to your personal and financial information.

• One-Time Password (OTP)

EastWest sends a One-Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile phone number. In case an unauthorized person gets to know your username and password, the OTP authentication requirement will prevent him or her from making changes to or misusing the funds in your account.

• Automatic log-out

You are automatically logged out of your EastWest session if the browser does not detect activity within a period of time. This feature helps prevent the unauthorized access of your account by ensuring that you are properly logged out of the EastWest network.

• Account lockout

Your EastWest Online access will be suspended if you or someone else attempts to sign with an incorrect password or OTP three times.
