In line with the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in certain areas within the country, we are extending the payment holiday for all accounts nationwide until May 31, 2020.

For your information and guidance, below are the Frequently Asked Questions for EastWest credit card.

1. Will the Bank follow the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) to certain parts of the country up to May 31?
Yes, credit cardholders whose payment due dates fall within the period of the ECQ and MECQ from March 17 to May 31, 2020 shall be granted 30-day payment extension for each due date in line with the Bayanihan To Heal As One Act (Bayanihan).

2. Are credit cardholders in the areas not part of the ECQ and MECQ entitled to the payment due date extension period?
Yes, all credit cardholders, including those whose billing or residential address is outside of the areas covered by the ECQ or MECQ, are entitled to the payment due date extension, provided that their credit card payment due date falls from March 17 to May 31, 2020.

3. Are late payment fees waived?
Yes, late payment fees are waived for all accounts whose payment due date falls during the ECQ and MECQ period.
 
4. Are interest on interest fees waived?
Yes, interest on interest fees will be waived on payment due within the ECQ and MECQ period.
 
5. I am a transactor and I pay my total amount due (TAD) in full but decided to avail myself of the payment extension during the ECQ and MECQ period, will I be charged interest?
For credit card transactors (those who pay their total statement balance in full prior to ECQ), interest fees during the payment extension period will not be charged if they continue to pay their total statement balance in full on or before their due date following the ECQ period. Any late payment or interest fee appearing in the Statement of Account will be reversed and reflected in the succeeding statement. 
 
6. I am a revolver and pay only my minimum amount due and decided to avail myself of the payment extension during the ECQ and MECQ period, will I be charged interest?
Interest on interest fees during the ECQ period shall be waived. Interest fees will continue to accrue based on the carried over outstanding balance. This will be payable on the next due date, following the application of the 30-day payment extension period. The cardholder may choose to pay the interest fee in lump sum or on staggered or revolved basis.
 
7. I do not wish to avail myself of the payment extension. Can I continue paying for my credit card dues this month?
Should you opt to pay your EastWest credit card dues this month, you may still do so via any of your enrolled accounts online, EastWest Online or Mobile Banking, at any EastWest or BancNet ATM, or through GCash.
