What is the SIM Registration Act?
Also known as Republic Act 11934, the SIM Registration Act aims to protect consumers from illegal activities such as scams, smishing and other kinds of mobile phone and online fraud. To implement this, all mobile phone users are required to register their prepaid and/or postpaid SIM cards with their respective telecommunications provider until July 25, 2023 |
How do I register my SIM card/mobile number?

- Make sure to register your prepaid and/or mobile number with your telecom service provider until July 25, 2023 to avoid deactivation.
What happens if I miss the last date of SIM Registration?
Failure to register within the prescribed period shall result in the automatic deactivation of the SIM.
What does this mean for EastWest customers?
Your unregistered mobile number linked to your EastWest account may be deactivated and may result in the following:
- Failure to receive One-Time Password (OTP) for online banking transactions which may result in the discontinuation of transactions such as fund transfers, purchases, and other mobile banking transactions.
- Failure to receive necessary SMS notifications about online, over-the-counter (OTC) or point-of-sale (POS) transactions.
