Let’s focus on your safety.

Unscrupulous individuals may send you fake e-mails pretending to be official EastWest e-mails or from other reputable institutions, for the purposes of phishing.

Phishing is when you get an e-mail that urgently asks you to enter personal information on a bogus website in order to steal it. These e-mails usually pose as account verification e-mails or urgent warnings, taking advantage of your concern and panic.

For example:
An e-mail posing to be from us is confirming that you made a transaction with a significant amount. Of course, this isn’t a transaction you made, so this causes you panic and you immediately click THIS IS NOT ME! and you are now directed to a fake log-on site to get your personal information.

When looking at e-mails like this, it’s important to be alert and level-headed.

First, always check who the sender is. In this case, the sender
autocollectioneastwestcardsonline@onlineaccountsdisabledchangefundsinternettransfercenter.com is not an EastWest domain. Only trust EastWest domains that you normally transact and interact with.

Next, do not click any links in the e-mail. If you need to log in to EastWest, only do it through the official website, https://www.eastwestbanker.com. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

It’s best to ignore and delete e-mails like these. Banks will never ask you to verify your account information this way. Don’t fall for it!

Always stay safe and be aware.
